The American Idol revival that no one needed and very few wanted is losing its most notorious critic.
Apparently, Katy's departure has to do with her desire to release new music in the next few years, ABC refusing to raise her $30 million salary, and her family schedule — not that she's saying any of that outright!
Katy made the announcement on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in February, believing it would likely be her last season as a judge.
According to an inside source The mirrorKaty Perry has “three factors that focus on her deal and her family.”
The insider noted: “Katy has been enjoying the best reality TV deal, worth around $30 million a year. He made her the highest [paid] female reality and entertainment star”.
The source then continued: “But the ABC doesn't want to improve it after five years of increases. There is no room for wiggle room as parent company Disney looks to be cost-effective and continue to spend low for the next couple of years.”

“This decree comes from the top,” the insider stressed. “So Katy has been informed that the deal is the same and you are welcome to continue.”
The source admitted: “ABC bosses know she's the eye-catcher on the show, but she's also the most expensive.”
Obviously, $30 million per year is a amazing and undeniably obscene amount of money. But regardless of the pay scale, she's looking at a workplace that depends on her, but doesn't pay enough to keep her. Plus, there are other things to consider – like having another baby.

Two months after announcing her departure from Idol, Katy rocked the red carpet at the iHeart Radio Music Awards. She was wearing a black bikini, a thin net dress and nothing else.
Many thought this sent a clear message to those gossiping that she is pregnant. The message: not yet!
While there's no confirmation on Katy's next pregnancy one way or the other, those in the know suggest that leaving Idol will pave the way for her to embark on Baby #2!
“Katy always told her friends that having a bigger family was a dream,” the insider shared.
“She's 40 in the fall,” the source said, “and loves her harmonious family with Orlando and his ex Miranda Kerr. But he would like a baby brother for Daisy.”
He added: “She came from a family with a sister and she really felt that helped her childhood and her coming-of-age experience. She and Angela remain close to this day.”

“The other thing is that Katy loves how Orlando is such a super dad to his kids,” the insider added. If he's such a good daddy to little Daisy, then of course Katy knows he'll be great with Baby #2.
“That made her love him even more,” the source described.
“She's learned from him how to balance work and personal time,” the insider revealed. “You could almost argue that she helped him really find a balance in her life because of his influence.”
“And let's be clear that Katy is a very good mum, who loves being there at breakfast and bedtime for Daisy. Being away from TV tapings increases that time,” the insider explained.
As wild as the tour schedules are, he could spend months on a tour and do Very very more money than American Idol is willing to pay her in a fraction of the time.
This would give Katy Perry and her handsome husband plenty of time to work on Baby #2. And perhaps to turn their long engagement into marriage plans, if they like it.
